Planter Drain If A Planter Has No Drainage Holes, Should I Make Some For It?

If a planter has no drainage holes, should I make some for it? - planter drain

Burst Lately some of my porch almost tomatoes because they super saturated by rain. I empty the pots with plants, but half-dead look.

Tomatoes need well-drained soil, but I'm in a container, it is best if the drain is about 1 cm above the ground. It gives them a small reserve of water for hot days, dry and allows water to drain, either by water or rain.

The same with cucumbers in pots. Place the drainage hole about 1 cm above the ground.

Pots can be placed outdoors in the hole
You can not set or the rain, so that some plants need drainage

I have stones in, or polystyrene in the bottom, such as sewer, water control and can not always be holes in terracotta pots, for example, Stone keeps the soil from below

Yes, run-off all the potted plants.
